Why did you become a mental health professional?
Achieving in the face of my own life difficulties, I learned the hard work of overcoming adversity. The crises and victories of the life journey inspire me to hold out a hand to others.

What are your interests outside of work?
I am a published writer and have a column in the News-Miners' monthly insert on health and wellness, AlaskaPulse. I walk the trails at Creamers. I bicycle along the river and into the woods to hidden lakes. I read and garden. I join charity 5ks. ln the dark and cold of winter, I go to the gym and community events. I dance in the dining room and sing out loud in the kitchen. I spend as much time as I can with family and friends.
